Fort Lauderdale-- The United States will be sending nine boxers to Beijing, China, this August to compete in the 2008 Olympic games. And, for the first time in thirty years, the United States will be sending a boxer who will be competing in his second consecutive Olympic games.
The U.S. failed to qualify fighters in the Light heavyweight and Super heavyweight divisions. The best hopes at medaling for the U.S. appear to be in the smaller weight divisions and possibly at welterweight.
