WBC #2 Lightweight contender Antonio Pitalua Ospino arrived last night in Austin, Texas with his team confident of victory. He appeared today at the public work out very optimistic and ready for his upcoming challenge for the WBC Lightweight vacant title against former WBA World Champion Edwin Valero of Venezuela this Saturday, April 4th at the Frank Erwin Center of the Texas capital. Valero was a no show.
"I know this is my last shot at a World Title and I will not let this opportunity go by, we have been waiting for a another chance almost 9 years and will take full advantage of itâ€, Pitalua said. "Valero is a good fighter but he has not faced somebody with my heart, punching power and experience and these will be my keys to victory," he continued.

DE LA HOYA vs PACQUIAO: SWIMMING WITH THE SHARKS...

"A lot has been said about this fight; thus far. The weight issue, the reach, the height, the gloves. The age old argument of 'a good big man will always beat a good little man.' I'm from the old school, it's what you have inside. If you have heart and the will to win, then you have a chance.
"The first question you have to ask is, why is De la Hoya fighting Pacquiao. Easy. He thinks it's the best option of him winning, and beating the best pound for pound fighter in the world right now. De la Hoya has made a career out of fighting fighters he thought he could beat. Paez, Rafael Ruelas, Chavez, Whitaker, Coley, Castillejo, Vargas, Campas, Sturm, Mayorga and Forbes.
